Lecture 3 | Convex Optimization I (Stanford)

Professor Stephen Boyd, of the Stanford University Electrical Engineering department, lectures on convex and concave functions for the course, Convex Optimization I (EE 364A). Convex Optimization I concentrates on recognizing and solving convex optimization problems that arise in engineering. Convex sets, functions, and optimization problems. Basics of convex analysis. Least-squares, linear and quadratic programs, semidefinite programming, minimax, extremal volume, and other problems. Optimality conditions, duality theory, theorems of alternative, and applications. Interior-point methods. Applications to signal processing, control, digital and analog circuit design, computational geometry, statistics, and mechanical engineering. ColorFly C4 - unboxing.

The successful output of the excellent 24bit/192KHz sound quality was largely attributed to the famous single HIFI CHIP inside, such as the DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter ) . WAN¡¯s team chose the CS4398, a top DAC chip from CIRRUS Logic. It produced quite satisfying quality with a dynamic range up to 120dB, as well as an extremely high decoding performance to decode the 24bit/192KH format. ¡¤ADI AD823 chip ¡¤CIRRUS LOGIC CS4398 DAC chip ¡¤CIRRUS LOGIC CS8422 SRC chip ¡¤TCXO high-precision crystal Oscillators From: www.colorFly.eu

Morris Chang with Jen-Hsun Huang

[Recorded Oct 17, 2007] A rare and fascinating conversation with one of the most innovative semiconductor pioneers and esteemed business leaders of our time. Born in Ningbo (Zhejiang province), China, in 1931, Dr. Morris Chang is the founding chairman of the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Ltd. (TSMC), a revolutionary enterprise he founded in 1987. TSMC is a dedicated silicon foundry, an independent factory available to anyone for producing integrated circuits. Using this approach, both entrepreneurs and established semiconductor companies could avoid having to build their own semiconductor factories and focus instead on circuit features and system-level product design as the source of value. From 1958 to 1983, Chang worked at Texas Instruments (TI), rising to group vice president for its worldwide semiconductor business. Under Chang's leadership, TI emerged as the world's leading producer of integrated circuits. During his tenure the company also pioneered high-volume production of consumer products including calculators, digital watches, and the popular "Speak & Spell" electronic toy. In 1983, Chang left TI to become president and chief operating officer at General Instrument Corporation. After a year at General Instrument, Chang was recruited by the Taiwanese government to spearhead that country's industrial research organization, the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). While there, he focused on issues relating to using technology to advance ...

Les Ferdinand, Darren Gough, James Wade, Ben Collins - Who Is Quickest In The New Caddy Van?

To celebrate the launch of the new Volkswagen Caddy van, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles held an exclusive track day at the Silverstone Stowe Circuit with a view to finding out once and for all who is the best behind the wheel a footballer, a cricketer or a darts player. Sporting legends Les Ferdinand, Darren Gough and James Wade were joined by the former Stig, Ben Collins, for a day of expert driving tuition and competitive time trials to see who the quickest sportsman in a van is. The competition was heated and all three sports stars were extremely confident. Under the watchful eye of Ben who set a bench mark time, Les, Darren and James were determined to get the best time out the van and be declared the champion. The driving was fierce and the van was pushed to its limits. Watch to find out the results, can any of them beat Ben's time?

TEDxFlanders - Catherine Van Holder & Ine Dehandschutter - Digital Nomads

Ine graduated as a photographer and webdesigner. During a trip to Iraq she became intrigued by the Middle East. She traveled to Israel, where she received a postgraduate in the arts. During this trip she enrolled in the blogger circuit and became a well read blog personality. Today she combines her passion for photography with her geeky webdesign side in her company called Matuvu. Catherine studied philosophy and has a postgraduate in marketing communication. Today she's engaged in interior design and online communication. Besides her professional work as a communication freelancer, she wants to undertake projects in which her passion for design, travel and the art of life converge. One of these projects is buttik.nu. Catherine traveled to Latin-America for five months in 2006. She documented the Nomadz-trip on her blog. Her travel fever hasn't dropped since. www.nomadz.nu Why listen to them? Nomadz.nu is two thirty somethings' experiment in lifestyle design to try and live like digital nomads, traveling while working remotely. During 2010, Catherine and Ine made a trip around the world, to 3 countries in particular, and set foot in several others. They did all this while working, questioning the current life templates they grew up with, believing in one meme: Don't be rich, live rich! Catherine and Ine will teach you how to take clients and work projects with you on vacation, while meditating in a Thai Buddhist temple, savoring delicious wines in Argentina or driving a ...
