Vintage alternation synthesizer Eko Ekosynth P15 "Digital System"

I think this synthesizer was manufactured in 1979. Although described by the manufacturer as a "digital system", it is an analogue synthesizer. The 'digital' refers to the type of circuitry employed ie silicon chips rather than transistors - so I am told. The audio is to give you an idea of what the synthesizer is capable of, even though it seems to have a number of faults - you can read more about this on ebid.net, ( uk.ebid.net ) go there and enter the following search terms: Eko P15 You will of course realise that I am no musician, that is not the purpose of the audio, I just want you to hear what the synth can do. There are no effects, it is totally dry, apart from a little compression. It reminds me of the early Roland synthesizers in look and sound. This synthesizer is rare. It will be an excellent project for anyone who likes to get these 'old dears' back to how they were in the land of Kraftwerk, Gary Numan and Ultravox.

GM Electronic Gear Indicator and Tripometer Odometer Cluster

Didn't light up anymore. This video is pretty short on details, I didn't have much time :) Symptoms: PRND321 and Tripometer/Odometer no longer light. Everything else works as normal. What you need: Basic soldering skills Rosin soldering flux Rosin core solder 4 150 ohm 1/5 watt resistors The 1999 Buick Century dash only has one screw holding the cover that crosses the whole thing. It is under the fuse cover on the passenger side of the vehicle. There are four screws that hold the cluster in the dash, they are in the four corners. The electrical connector needs to be squeezed from the top and bottom to be removed. Apply rosin flux to solder pads on circuit board and leads from resistors before beginning soldering.

Plasma TV repair

I noticed within the past few months that my Samsung Plasma, during dark scenes in movies, would show alot of red or green digital specks like static or digital noise. I did some searching and found that the Vs or Va probably needed adjustment and that it was an easy fix for a repair man as it only required a phillips head screw driver. So I took of my back panel and noticed there were alot of places on circuit boards that had these places a screw driver would adjust and just decide to start closest to the power supply and work my up, so on my first tweak counter clockwise all my static disapeared so I left it alone. Had turning that screw not done anything, I would of just turned it back to its original position and moved to the next one until I noticed something happening. I had to remove alot of screws from around the tv, so I suggest you use an electric screw driver to make it less of a pain.

Technics SA-1010 Stereo Receiver

It's a beast. 125 watts per channel into eight ohms. Enough power to make sure everyone on the block knows where the party is. ;-) I don't know how many survive today, how many were made or what they're worth. I've seen a couple come up for auction--including an off-black colored unit--around the time this video was uploaded. This dates from approximately 1983. I bought this on eBay, found it to be in less than ideal condition and have been working at fixing it up every now and then. Even in its degraded state, it sounds good and has no problem running things right up to an unwisely loud level. Fixing it will take some time, it's pretty complex inside because of all the tinned wiring running from circuit board to circuit board. And there was shipping damage to contend with as well--at some point the space expander and slide rule tuning displays popped loose. The seller did offer to make things right. I said "forget it". There's hope, it does basically work, so why get really irritated? More seriously, this has a high quality digital tuner, New Class A Computer Drive design with discrete output transistors, lots of hookups for your equipment and a nifty looking "Space Expander" stereo expander circuit that processes the audio to make it sound like your speakers are further apart than they really are.
